What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy

A discrete medical specialty which concentrates on the manual treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

Osteopaths use an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology combined with osteopathic principals to assess and diagnose problems within the body. We will take into account factors such as your job, posture, sports and previous injuries when treating and giving advice. By law, all osteopaths must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

The Practice at Ferndown is a friendly osteopathic Practice in the heart of Ferndown offering specialist osteopathy to the whole family.

We have a very experienced team of Osteopaths who use both structural and cranial osteopathy to treat patients of all ages including babies and children.

Although osteopathy is well known for its expertise in the treatment of lower back pain, it has a high degree of success in treating conditions throughout the body: including neck pain, sports injuries, knee problems, headaches, frozen shoulder, arthritic pain and sciatica.

In association with the charity Arthritis action we are the only recognised osteopaths in Dorset to offer subsidised treatment for patients
with arthritis.
